Arguably the most important issue of our time. This course is an excellent opportunity to really understand what is happening. Through acitivites, students will look at long term temperature changes to provide evidence for global warming. They will look at the effects of rising temperatures on weather patterns - hurricanes, droughts, and the economic impact on specific parts of the world. And they will play the Carbon Credit game where teams of students role play as countries trading in carbon credits and sustainable development programmes to find a winner. They could save the world!

Learning Outcome: Evidence of global warming, factors involved in temperature rises e.g. albedo, infra-red radiation, pollutant levels, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen compounds, factors involved in constructing a computer model to simulate temperatures, technology available to combat global warming, stabilisation wedges, carbon credits, trading, national and international influences on global warming policies.
