Science and Humanities

The daughter of the leader of the Iceni tribe has been kidnapped by the Romans who are invading Britain. Our students will join the Iceni tribe for the day to rescue her. Through practical exercises, they must infiltrate the Roman forces to discover information leading to the location of the princess. They must use all their knowledge about the Romans and their technology, including Roman road maps, a visit to a soothsayer, wax tablet communication and invasion machines to solve the clues to her whereabouts and win her back.

Course length: One school day

Skills: Problem solving, Roman history, archaeological techniques, teamwork, leadership, communication skills.

Learning Outcome: Students will have an improved knowledge of the Romans and tribes in Roman Britain. They will learn simple translation and presentations skills.
