Could you transport an audience to another world? Here's how. Create your own stage and screen designs - learn the tricks of the trade, like scaling. As well as getting you started on interpreting and capturing the essence of the script, this course will show you the differences between creating a world on stage and one for the camera. The course touches on design, make up , lighting and costume. Try your hand at designing for stage and screen.

Suitable for: Years 7, 8, 9

Location: In your school, general workroom with access to a stage if possible.

Student numbers: 30

Course length: One school day

Skills: Manual dexterity, problem solving, research.

Learning Outcome: Students will experience interpreting a script in the light of technical requirements of stage and screen. They will be able to create practical designs to enhance any production.
