An exploration of flight from hot air balloons to rockets. The principles of wings, propellers, jet engines and rockets are explained through a series of activities including making a hot air balloon, model aircraft and firing rockets. Using both passive and active examples the place of flight in nature is explained in terms of the competitive advantage it bestows.

Location: In your school lab or general workroom. Some experiments need to be conducted outside, easy access to a playground or sports field is an advantage.
